Peter Cackett Collection

Overseas holidays can turn up the unexpected! Peter came across former Red & White UC963, 31FAX, a Bristol MW with ECW coach body, in Tangiers.
The PSV Circle fleet history shows it as sold (via Paul Sykes) to Argas Persicus Travel in London. Argas Persicus is the name of a type of tick and was the formal name for the company known as Top Deck Travel, who mainly specialised in Bristol Lodekkas. It passed to Top Deck in early 1978 and returned to Barnsley in early 1980. It would appear that it was repainted in an approximation of Red and White livery. There is one detail difference in that the central red band stops abruptly behind the cab window - in Red and White days it curved down and continued as a narrow band above the trim at the front.
