The National Bus Company bus station with the most spectacular background set was Keswick and understandably popular with photographers. I struck lucky on first visit with the unique Ribble 774, ACK774B, their Leyland Panther PSUR1/2RT / Marshall DP49F new in July 1964 found resting after duty on the long X40 from Manchester via Preston and Lancaster.
The semi-coach was the first production Leyland Panther and was in the demonstration park at the Commercial Motor Show in 1964. It was withdrawn in September 1975 and passed exactly twelve months later to dealer North at Sherburn-in-Elmet, with no further service known.
