"Well fancy meeting you here": a PD2 line-up with a chequered history. During the 60s and 70s Paton Bros owned a number of second-hand PD2s which were used both for school and works contracts and for service work.
CEK839 was a PD2/22 with Northern Counties H32/26R bodywork. It had been new to Wigan Corporation as their 123 in July 1956. Patons acquired it in April 1974 and operated it until November 1975. WCD75 was a PD2/37 which had been new to Brighton Corporation in March 1959. It operated for Patons from August 1973 until June 1975. MCO659 was a PD2/12 with Weymann H32/26R bodywork which had been new to Plymouth Corporation as their 59 in October 1956. Flora Motors of Helston operated it between September 1971 and January 1974 although when subsequently acquired by Patons it was still in Plymouth colours. In July 1976 it was sold to Alexander (Greyhound) of Arbroath who got a further year's service out of it. AEX332 was new to Great Yarmouth Corporation as their 32 in May 1957. The Massey body was originally H30/28R but was re-seated to H33/28R in 1964. In September 1969 it passed to Wessex of Bristol from whom Paton acquired it in July 1974. It too passed to Greyhound in July 1976.
