Paton, Renfrew 8, BCK434, acquired in April 1967, was a 1946 Leyland PD1A chassis which had been fitted with a Burlingham L27/26RD body in July 1955, replacing the original Brush L27/26R body which it carried when it entered service in August 1947.
It was previously Ribble 2491 and was seen at Renfrew Ferry. It had been fitted with an O.600 engine, replacing the original E181 one, in 1958. The O.600 engine came to be fitted as the result of an exchange with one of an earler batch of PD1s to which the O.600 engines had been fitted in 1948/9.
