City Of Oxford Motor Services Daimler Fleetline 376, KFC376G, bodied by Northern Counties (Wigan) and new in 1969.
This image (reproduced by permission of copyright-holder Grahame Wareham) shows how much the rather squat Northern Counties body of the Sixties could be enhanced by wrap-round screens and by a splendid livery that COMS would soon be simplifying and then losing altogether in the NBC's homogenisation programme. This bus was one of the last to carry the single-panel Oxford number/destination display and the next '-H' batch were to feature dual doors, hopper vents and a messy rearrangement of the lower-deck windows.
