Another view at the unusual area name of Tindale Crescent shows five week old OK Leyland Atlantean XUP347L a Leyland Atlantean AN68/2R on the Evenwood service. It's the first of three with Northern Counties H47/36F bodies of a design still appropriate today.
Of note are the red uniforms and the conductor with extra warmth plus Setright machine, as passengers dropped off on the (then) A688 head home. Like the trio this bus had a long life, though sold earliest. It moved to the Hunter Road, Peterlee depot in June 1994, entered the Go-Ahead numbering system as 9347 in April 1995, saw eleven months more service and was sold for scrap in April 1996.
