Bedlington & District FAU386C (formerly Nottingham 386) an AEC Renown 3B3RA with Northern Counties H40/30F body new in 1965.
Nottingham's Northern Counties-bodied Renowns seem to be less well known than their Weymann-bodied counterparts. Both types were interesting as they had low height chassis but were fitted with normal height bodies, giving not only a low, one-step entrance but also plenty of interior headroom - something that we had to wait nearly another forty years to be reinvented (OK, the step did not kneel, but with its rear air suspension I'm sure that even that could have been easily accomplished). It doesn't quite exhibit Northern Counties' usual tasteful design flair, but I bet it was a very practical bus.
