Ex-Northern General 1472, DCN72, NGT/AEC Regal with Picktree /NGT B43F body.
I know very little about this bus; apparently between 1951 and 1953 Northern General rebuilt a number of post war AEC Regals, by extending the chassis so that they could receive 30ft bodies. They were classified as NGT/AEC but had NGT chassis numbers and never carried AEC badges on their AEC outline radiators. By the time this photograph was taken, DCN72 was nearing the end of its life. Having doubtless been used by contractor Doherty initially for staff transport, it had later been used as a site hut, but had even reached the end of this duty and had attracted the attention of vandals.
