Merthyr Tydfil switched to saloons for all new deliveries from 1967. Initially the Leyland Leopard was the chassis of choice all, with East Lancs bodywork of varying styles. Later they would try the RE and MCW-Scania. Seen after withdrawal by Merthyr is 181, HHB181K, a 1972 Leyland Leopard PSU3B/2R with 51 seat body. This was one of the last Leopards bought by Merthyr.
It is seen in Skipton in service with Pinnacle Coaches on a service from Keighley that competed against Keighley and District for a short time. Merthyr's unusual orange and brown livery is carried
