Delivered in the swansong era of BET Federation single-deckers in July 1974, Midland Red 333, PHA333M, was a Leyland Leopard PSU3B/2R with Marshall DP49F body classed as S28, SDP28 from 1980. It transferred to the new East company in September 1981 which became Midland Fox in 1983.
With road salt and grit covering its Midland Express livery on a miserable shift for the driver, 333 pulls away on what had been the 668 route Leicester - Coalville - Ashby - Burton-upon-Trent, now showing as 68. Its main period of service was sadly short, only until July 1986, it had served Swadlincote garage continuously from January 1976. The PSV Circle shows a brief reinstatement at Market Harborough from March to October 1990, but surprisingly there is no mention of this on the comprehensive MidlandRed.net site.
