In 1960 I was probably in a fairly privileged position as I was working at Midland Red's Carlyle Road Central Works and was therefore able to take photographs 'in parts that others couldn't reach'. By late 1960 all of the FEDDs had been withdrawn with just a few retained for driver training and staff transport purposes. This latter use is illustrated here with four examples retained for transporting workmen from the factory to and from their homes. The lead vehicle is fleet no. 2370, FHA874, and is seen with three others undertaking similar duties. Regrettably none of these fine vehicles survived into preservation.
