Manchester tramcar no. 510 apparently leaving Hyde town centre on route 19 for Manchester (despite showing 'Hyde' on the destination blind/stencil) after having reversed near the town's market-place. The tramcar may be a 'Pilcher' lightweight type from ca.1933, similar to those sold to Leeds in the late '40s.
This poor-quality image is reproduced from a set of bus/tram photos that had been uploaded to a now-closed blog called "Hydonian" which collected reminiscences of the former borough of Hyde, Cheshire. The house behind the tram was a branch of the District Bank; a modern, marble-faced '60s building housing a Natwest branch is now on the site.
