Maidstone & District OR2, HKL826, formerly SO16, a 1946 AEC Regal with Beadle body converted in 1957 to OB35F, along with two other similar buses, used from 1958 until the mid-1970s in Hastings and known as Emily. After a spell with Guide Friday in various places and then private ownership, it was acquired by NEBPT in 2007.
It is seen here leaving Seaburn Field, ready to pick up passengers for a return trip up the coast to Whitburn. For this joyride, the charge wasn't even 1/6d – it was free (as on a few other displayed buses). Teesside (Cleveland), Northern and United are represented on the left, the United Bristol L5G being the Heartbeat TV star, displaying Aidensfield as its (fictional) destination.
