Scout, Hastings CO301, SKE997, a Beadle-Leyland rebuild from 1953 with a Beadle C26F body is seen on the spare ground at the top end of Victoria Coach Station, parked facing Semley Place with the chimney on the end of the overseas departures building prominent in the background.
J.C. Bingham (The Scout Motor Coaches), Hastings had been acquired by Maidstone & District in May 1951 and a number of coaches were maintained in the Scout livery of red & cream livery until July 1969 when 4444, 444 LKE, received Maidstone & District coach livery.
