Maidstone & District 3337, 337NKT, an AEC Reliance 2MU3RV with Weymann DP40F body, new in 1961 as S337.
Seen awaiting departure from outside Battle Abbey, near Hastings. Pope Alexander II is said to have ordered William the Conquerer to build the abbey as a penance for killing so many English at the recent Battle of Hastings. It is reputed to be stand at the place where King Harold was killed (the abbey, not the bus) though this has been disputed.
