1953 Leyland PrototypeFrom: Richard Prince Fri 25 Feb 2011 22:19
We have recently purchased a 1953 Leyland Prototype and we have been told that you (LVVS) used to own it. Do you, or anybody, have any information on this vehicle?

I'm a (relative) newcomer to LVVS, only involved since the 90s, so it doesn't ring any bells with me.
Can you give a bit more information? Or e-mail (via the Society's e-mail address) a photo, and I will ask around.

Hi I presume this the Tiger Cub test bed supplied to Clayton Dewandre at Lincoln for brake experiments ?
It was later used by Lincoln Corporation as a breakdown tender for a spell , passing via the LVVS into preservation .
It operated on trade plates while in Lincoln , but gained a Portsmouth reg I recall , and a new dropside body.
It was a flat back origainally with weights added .
Hope this helps

As is always the way, I found this picture of it while looking for something else on the web http://www.flickr.com/photos/8050359@N07/3263106665/
