Former London Transport STL1700, DGX219, parked, engineless, in the back streets of Hackney in March 1957.
I am not sure whether one would get away with parking an engineless, and presumably unlicensed, bus in the streets these days! Ian’s Bus Stop shows this as owned by Advance Precision Instruments of Hainault (presumably the Advance in the blind box) from 1956 to December 1957, when it was sold to Walker Brothers, Hackney, presumably those responsible for parking it where it was. The date of my photograph suggests that the sale to Walker Brothers was probably earlier than recorded.
