Rotherham and District was a south Yorkshire independent which ran for a few years from 1989. Started by Glynne Pegg, it also traded as Hallamshire Bus and at one time according to Wikipedia, fellow independant Yorkshire Terrier held a stake in the company. There was also an involvement by Stephensons of Uttoxeter who loaned vehicles at various times in the later days of the operation. Former London Transport RM584, WLT584, came to Rotherham and District in January 1989 after a brief non PSV spell with Record Tools of Sheffield and left the fleet in April 1991. By then it had received a blue and cream livery.
Services included the 5 to and from Dore, 277 from Sheffield to Doncaster, 296 Swinton to Rotherham and 72 which was also to Dore and may have replaced service 5. Seen at Sheffield Pond Street in a slide given to me by a friend in 1990.
