Preserved London Transport RM2, SLT57, is seen at Westerham, having worked a journey on erstwhile route 403 from Sevenoaks on the Country Bus Rallies Classic Bus Running Day at Sevenoaks.
It was the second of the Routemaster prototypes and had A.E.C. running units with a body built at Chiswick Works by London Transport. It entered service in May 1957, in green livery, on route 406 between Kingston and Redhill, but was later painted red and ran, from September 1957, on route 91 between London Airport and Wandsworth Bridge. It was withdrawn from service in 1959 and thereafter used for driver training and experimental purposes, before entering preservation in 1986 when it was donated to the London Transport Museum.
