Whippet, Hilton MXX248, an AEC Regent III 9613E with Weymann L27/26R body. New to London Transport as RLH48 in 1952, it served at five different LT garages before being withdrawn in 1964.
It passed to Whippet, along with two other RLHs, in 1965 where it was mainly used on school bus duties, and latterly as a tow bus.
It was sold to the London Bus Preservation Group at Cobham in 1974 and was then hired out for promotional work - including a spell for Johnny Walker whisky in Belgium. Owned by Richard Proctor since 1984 it is now restored to LT Country Service green livery and regularly rallied in the south of England.
