This is Ledgard MXX179 (former RT3664 into stock 11 Oct 1963) in King Street, Leeds. The impression of light loading is misleading - the bus has just arrived at the terminus in King Street on a duplicate journey and is obviously "running in" empty to Armley Depot - the conductor's uniform sleeve can be seen on the rear offside long seat.
While I personally have no objection to the London Transport livery, especially compared with some of today's atrocious "marketing" offerings, its interesting to see the fresh impression given by subsequent operators' liveries. Regular contributors will no doubt be expecting the attached from me, and I do think that the Ledgard livery suited the RTs/RTLs very well indeed, especially as all thirty nine of the types were treated to the same superb standard of alteration and preparation for service.
