Samuel Ledgard 1953U, an AEC Regent V with Roe H37/28R body, new in 1957. This was a comparative rarity in a mainly second-hand fleet having been bought new as part of a batch of six. It also had the distinction of operating the last Ledgard service before the transfer of routes to West Yorkshire and Leeds City Transport on Sunday October 15th 1967.
Out of 105 vehicles in the Ledgard fleet at the start of October 1967, 93 were withdrawn from service with the takeover - 1953U was one of the exceptions, passing into the West Yorkshire fleet and gaining the fleet number DAW6.
