Hunter, Seaton Delaval 37, DBC189C (formerly Leicester 189), an AEC Renown 3B3RA with East Lancs. H44/31F body, new in 1965.
I was always a great fan of the AEC Renown, having bought one myself for preservation the previous year. On this occasion I was staying with friends who lived on the Marden Estate near Cullercoats, and there were several Renowns to be seen around. Bedlington & District a bit further north had examples from Nottingham, City of Oxford and Rotherham. Northern General had a number of ex-East Yorkshire ones in garish yellow - one of which I rode on into Newcastle. Then there was this one of Hunter's which I managed to catch for the return journey. A great day out ! Not quite sure where this one was taken, but what is that person doing sat in the road ?
