A Leeds "Dick, Kerr" tram built by The Electric Railway & Tramway Carriage Works Ltd., Preston on a Brill 21E truck and fitted with Maley track brakes, is seen at the entrance to Kirkstall Road works in the form decorated for the Coronation of George V in 1911.
All the "Dick, Kerr" trams had been fitted with top covers by this date and so this had been removed for this occasion. The decorations were similar to those used, on a different "Dick, Kerr" tram, for the Royal visit in 1908 and the three bay construction suited the motifs which had been retained, with modified "G R" and "M R" appearing in the saloon windows. The words "LONG LIVE" replaced "WELCOME TO" on the upper panelling. It ran in the evenings from 22nd June until 5th July, making trips over each route with its final journey being a tour of Roundhay, Moortown and Chapeltown.
