Leeds 642, ONW642, was one of the first production batch of 8 feet wide buses for Leeds and is here seen at Meanwood on the first day of the 52/53 Morley services being extended from Corn Exchange to Meanwood to replace the tram service. It is an AEC Regent III/Roe H31/25R and was withdrawn in July 1969 having entered service in December 1950.
The transport department did not allow these buses to operate on routes into the bus station because of their width although other operators had no such inhibitions.
