Leeds built forty-one totally-enclosed cars between 1923 and 1928 and 408, which entered service on 8th March 1928, although it had been finished and painted on 21st March 1926, had a body seating 46/24 on E.M.B. Pivotal trucks which were replaced by a Peckham P35 truck in July 1949.
It was last repainted in April 1953 and was the only one of these cars to be painted in the red livery. Seen at the Half Mile Lane terminus it was withdrawn in April 1955 and was burned at Low Fields Road Permanent Way Yard in May 1955. Half Mile Lane is the road off to the left between Isles Service depot (Leyland Agents) and the row of houses. On the right is the Pavilion Cinema.
