Leeds 375, one of a batch of twenty-five cars, seating 46/24, built by Leeds between 1925 and 1928 on Peckham P22 trucks and known, unofficially, as "Beeston Air-Brakes" because of the equipment fitted for them to operate this route with its steep gradients.

Leeds 99, one of the 185 Chamberlain cars (411-445, 1-150) built between 1926 and 1928. A snowy day at Bramley Town End early in 1951 with the tram reversing after a short working journey.

Leeds City Transport 399, a 1926 tramcar popularly known as a "Beeston Air Brake", one of Leeds first totally enclosed trams. Now preserved at Crich in running order.

Leeds 399 which entered service in 1926 was withdrawn from passenger service on 8th June 1951. It was used as a shunter at Kirkstall Road works and later Swinegate depot, as seen here, from September 1951 until August 1959 when it was moved to Crich having been donated to The Leeds Transport Historical Society.

Leeds tram 301 (Ex-London no 1) with L.C.C. 38/28 body is seen at Harehills about to depart for Dewsbury Road. It was withdrawn four days later when the Dewsbury Road to Moortown route was converted to bus operation.

Leeds 509, one of the 90 Feltham trams acquired from London in 1950-1. This was taken at Harehills Road on an enthusiasts tour and 509 was the only one to operate in this particular variant of the red/cream livery.

Leeds 286 was one of six 'Pilcher' trams acquired from Manchester in 1948, after a trial car was purchased in 1946. Built in Manchester Corporation's Car Works in 1930-2 they seated 40/22 and were mounted on Peckham P35 trucks.

Leeds tram 301 (Ex-London no 1) with L.C.C. 38/28 body is seen at Harehills on approach to the terminal stub. It was withdrawn four days later when the Dewsbury Road to Moortown route was converted to bus operation.

Leeds City Transport 180 is a Horsfield or "Showboat" car built in 1931 by Brush of Loughborough. These cars and the ex London Felthams bought in the 1950s ran until closure of the system in 1959. Post war red livery is carried.

Leeds 179, a Horsfield new in 1931, in the post 1948 blue livery with modified indicator boxes taken at the Half Mile Lane terminus. This was the only one to have the box fitted at high level.

Leeds 191, seen about May 1951 in the pre 1948 Blue & Cream livery but with modified indicator boxes at Harehills, Easterly Road about to turn for a journey to Haddon Place. One of 100 production 'Horsfield' cars built by Brush on Peckham P35 trucks, half with B.T.H. electrical equipment and half with G.E.C. entering service in 1931/2.

Southend 248, UG1030, was an AEC Regent with Roe H30/26R body, new to Leeds in 1932 (fleet number 43) and bought second hand by Southend in 1946.

Leeds 274 seen at Roundhay Park about 1952. It was one of three (272-274) built in 1935 by Leeds on Maley & Taunton Swing Link trucks and seated 34/26. They were known as "Lance Corporals" for obvious reasons.

AUM404 was an AEC Regent new to Leeds as number 161 in July 1935 with an MCCW H30/26R body. After withdrawal in September 1949 it passed, in December, to Wallace Arnold Tours and operated also at various times for both subsidiary companies Hardwicks, Scarborough and Farsley Omnibus Company.

Burrows 71, AUM439, was acquired in April 1951 from Leeds City Transport (196) when 16 years old. An AEC Regent with Roe H30/26R body it is seen in Leeds Bus Station in company with one of the Bristols and on the right a Kippax & District Leyland bodied PD2/1.

DUB926, Leyland TD4c/Roe H31/25R new in December 1936 as Leeds 72 had the torque converter removed in June 1937 along with the rest of the batch (66-75) between then and December, and a conventional gearbox fitted.

Leeds 76, FNW46, AEC Regent/Weymann H30/26R metal framed body new in September 1937 was withdrawn from passenger service in September 1949 and is seen here in Sovereign Street adjacent to Swinegate tram depot on Learner duties which it performed from 1949 to October 1956.

FNW707 is here seen in Wakefield Bus Station with Bingley, Kinsley operating the service thence to South Elmsall, a short working of the service to Doncaster. Originally Leeds 307, it was new in October 1937 and is a Leyland TD5 with Roe H31/25R body, being withdrawn by Leeds in January 1950, passing to Bingley in January 1952 and being withdrawn in January 1957.

Leeds 400, FNW719, AEC Regent/Roe "Pullman" H31/25R was a 1937 Commercial Motor Show model which entered service in December 1937, was withdrawn on January 31st 1956, and is seen here in Infirmary Street shortly before withdrawal.

GNW702, ex-Leeds 19, Leyland TS8/Roe B36R entered service in June 1938. After withdrawal in December 1954 it was converted by C.H.Roe for use by Leeds Welfare Services and was withdrawn in October 1960.

Leeds 88, JUB588, Daimler CWA6/Roe H30/26R photographed leaving Rockingham Street Bus Station. This bus, new in October 1945. originally had a Brush H30/26R relaxed utility body but was rebodied in October 1955 with the 1934 Roe body from AEC Regent no. 134 (ANW 677). It was withdrawn from service six days after this photograph was taken.

Leeds 701, JUB727, was numbered 27 when it entered service in August 1946, becoming 701 in November 1948. It was the only Crossley DD42/3 to serve Leeds and had a Crossley H30/26R body.

Leeds 701, JUB727, the solitary Crossley DD42/3 new in 1946 with Crossley H30/26R body seen in Leeds Bus Station. This was one of the few Leeds buses to have painted engine covers in the days of exposed radiators.

Leeds 512, JUG112, was one of three, from the original batch of nine Daimler CWA6/Brush H30/26R 1946 deliveries (504-512), which were rebodied in 1955 using Roe H31/25R bodies from the AEC Regents new in 1934/5.

Leeds 324, JUG624, Leyland PD1/Roe H31/25R new in May 1946 retained its Leyland E181 engine until withdrawal in May 1960. The batch of 15 vehicles, except for 331, maintained the service on route 46 Bramley to Belle Isle for many years as well as performing other duties.

Halifax Joint Committee 423, ex-Leeds 423, LUA423, operated from July 1964 to December 1965 to cover for late delivery of new vehicles. This AEC Regent III/Roe H31/25R is seen in central Halifax still in Leeds livery.

Leeds 700, NUM700, was a 1950 Commercial Motor Show model and was the second 8 feet wide vehicle in the Leeds fleet, the first being 600, the 1948 Show Model. It entered service on 5th November 1950 and ran until July 1969. It is shown here at Corn Exchange on its way to Morley having come from Meanwood.

Leeds 642, ONW642, was one of the first production batch of 8 feet wide buses for Leeds and is here seen at Meanwood on the first day of the 52/53 Morley services being extended from Corn Exchange to Meanwood to replace the tram service. It is an AEC Regent III/Roe H31/25R and was withdrawn in July 1969 having entered service in December 1950.

Leeds 602 was one of only two trams built by C.H. Roe and entered service in a special Royal Purple and ivory livery on 1st June 1953. This and companion 601 (with different electrical equipment) seated 34, with provision for 36 standing passengers in their centre entrance bodies.

Leeds City Transport single deck rail car 600 which was rebuilt in the Kirkstall works in over a period of years finally entering service in 1954, now preserved at the Crich tramway museum.

Leeds 600 at the Thwaite Gate terminus at Hunslet. This was built in Leeds' Kirkstall Road Works and was a reconstruction of Sunderland 85 which had been purchased in 1944 for 'experimental purposes'.
