In the middle is an AEC Regent III with Northern Coachbuilders L55R body, ECX420, which started life with the Huddersfield Joint Committee and passed in 1963 into the small fleet of Vines of Great Bromley. It was in turn sold later in the year this picture was taken to Silver City of Harlow

In contrast with the streamlined livery applied to corporation trolleybuses, the Huddersfield JOC livery for its motor buses was a restrained red and cream. 178, JVH378, a 1955 AEC Regent III with lowbridge East Lancs body would late in its career carry a modified version of the streamlined livery but is restored to original condition as seen here.

Huddersfield Corporation (as opposed to the Joint Committee) bought their first motor buses as late as 1962 having been an all trolleybus fleet until then. 411, WVH411, is a 1962 Leyland Titan PD3A/2 with Roe front entrance bodywork. The bus is seen after sale to OK Motor Services the well known North East independent.

Huddersfield Corporation 473, KVH473E, is a preserved Daimler Fleetline with Roe body dating from 1967. It is seen at the ill-fated and short-lived Transperience Museum in Bradford which had high hopes of being the finest and most comprehensive transport museum in the UK, complete with working trams and trolleybuses. Sadly, it was a victim of misguided optimism and a lack of long-term funding.
