1. PV4790 ... Colchester's only trolleybus was only used by ladies. As a mobile toilet it was towed to serve major outdoor events in the borough. The green and white livery more or less perpetuated that of its previous owner Ipswich Corporation, number 82, PV4790, a locally built Ransomes with Massey body seating 48.

6. KPU519 ... Crossley DD42/3T with a Massey H30/26R body was Colchester 55, KPU519. and was the sole new bus in 1948.  It ran on trial for two weeks in November 1948 and then its torque converter transmission was replaced by a normal clutch and gearbox.

Amongst these were a small batch of five Daimler CVD6 with body by Roberts of Wakefield which were delivered in 1949. The batch was withdrawn between 1966 and 1968. Number 4, OHK432, was saved for posterity and has been restored to its original colour scheme
