1. PV4790 ... Colchester's only trolleybus was only used by ladies. As a mobile toilet it was towed to serve major outdoor events in the borough. The green and white livery more or less perpetuated that of its previous owner Ipswich Corporation, number 82, PV4790, a locally built Ransomes with Massey body seating 48.

2. KEV331 ... Colchester Corporation 46, KEV331, was a Bristol K6A with Duple utility H56R body new in August 1945.

6. KPU519 ... Crossley DD42/3T with a Massey H30/26R body was Colchester 55, KPU519. and was the sole new bus in 1948.  It ran on trial for two weeks in November 1948 and then its torque converter transmission was replaced by a normal clutch and gearbox.

9. OHK432 ... Colchester Coporation bought a mixture of chassis after the second world war. Amongst these were a small batch of five Daimler CVD6 with body by Roberts of Wakefield which were delivered in 1949. The batch was withdrawn between 1966 and 1968. Number 4, OHK432, was saved for posterity and has been restored to its original colour scheme

42. CWC36B ... Colchester Corporation 36, CWC36B was a Leyland PD2A30spl (7' 6" wide) with Massey H61R body, one of a trio newly delivered in June 1964 in the brighter "cream sandwich" livery. Seen here leaving Colchester Bus Station it positively shone! It lasted until May 1977 when ousted, along with many of its contemporaries, by a batch of ten OMO Atlanteans.

53. AVX53G ... Sometimes "the back end of a bus" does not live up to the rest of the design of this Massey bodied Leyland Atlantean AVX53G, Colchester 53, from 1968, with the odd sliding window on the rear emergency door and the oily back bumper, which seemed to be a feature all over the country.
