Bristol Omnibus 3774, LHY937, a 1950 Bristol K6B with ECW highbridge bodywork. In 1954 the bus was transferred to Gloucester City services as G1541.

London Transport Leyland Titan PD2/6RT with Leyland body to London design RTW29, KGK529. This bus dates from 1949 but entered service in 1950. The 500 RTW Leylands were Londons first 8ft wide buses

South Yorkshire DYG53, a 1940 Albion Valkyrie CX13, rebodied in October 1957 with a 33 seat Burlingham body that was supplied new in 1950 on JWT112, an Albion CX39 which in turn was rebodied as a double decker.

Huddersfield Corporation (as opposed to the Joint Committee) bought their first motor buses as late as 1962 having been an all trolleybus fleet until then. 411, WVH411, is a 1962 Leyland Titan PD3A/2 with Roe front entrance bodywork. The bus is seen after sale to OK Motor Services the well known North East independent.

Douglas Horse Tram 18 - originally built in 1883 by the Metropolitan Railway Carriage & Wagon Co for South Shields but went to the IOM in 1887. Was rebuilt as a single deck car in 1906 but rebuilt as a double decker in the 1980s.

West Yorkshire Bristol RELL6G SRG38, PYG653E, with ECW dual door body, one of a number bought in 1967 for Harrogate local services. All were eventually rebuilt to single door layout.

Isle of Man Road Services 2, KMN504, a 1949 all Leyland PD2/1. It was renumbered 74 in October 1968, withdrawn in 1974 and has subsequently passed to a variety of preservationists. Now back in the Isle of Man it has been returned, this year, to its original identity.

Yorkshire Traction 743, CHE314C, a 1965 Leyland Titan PD3A/1 with Roe bodywork Originally numbered 1314 when new 743 was one of the last batch of front engined double deckers bought by Yorkshire Traction and the only PD3s with Roe bodywork apart from a pair originally owned by County Motors which YTC accquired when they took over that company in 1969.

Warrington Corporation 27, EED5, a 1946 Leyland Titan PD1 with Leyland bodywork.

Warrington Corporation bought East Lancs bodied Leyland Titan PD2/40s as standard until the dawn of the rear engined era. The 1965 examples were classed as Leyland Titan PD2/40Sp (for special) as they were only 7ft 6ins wide to get through the narrow streets of the town centre. 43, BED724C, is seen at the 75th anniversary rally held in 1978 by Lancaster City Transport.

North Western bought several batches of Bristol RELLs when they became available on the open market. The penultimate batch which came in 1971 carried ECW bodywork with a special low roof line to enable them to pass under the Bridgewater Canal on the Warrington to Altringham service. 347, SJA347J, became SRL239 in the Crosville fleet and is seen at Warrington.

Unusual working in Manchester Piccadilly with traffic in both directions on the left of the board due to road works. Traffic on the left would be to/from London Road whilst on the right would be to Portland Street. 4454, NNB264, a 1954 Metro Cammell H32/28R bodied Daimler CVG6 passes on its way to Southern Cemetery.

North Western bought batches of AEC Renowns in the sixties - one such was 973, VDB973, dating from 1963. In 1972 the company was split between SELNEC PTE Crosville and Trent, 963 became DAA508 in the Crosville fleet and is seen at Northwich depot in 1978

Stockport Corporation bought a batch of Leyland Titan PD2/30s in 1960 that carried unusually for Stockport Longwell Green bodywork which carries more than a hint of ECW about it. 347, PJA917, is seen as 5947 in the Greater Manchester fleet in 1978 shortly before withdrawal.

Manchester 2183, KNA623, seen at Levenshulme (Lloyd Road) was a Crossley H32/26R bodied Crossley DD42/8S new in 1949. The tracks & shelter remain in place from the tram service abandoned in January 1949. The building on the left housed offices for the transport department.

Yorkshire Woollen bought both AEC and Leyland front entrance double deckers prior to switching to rear engined types in the mid-sixties. Seen here is DHD177, a 1959 AEC Regent V with MCW bodywork originally numbered 797 but renumbered in the sixties to 66. Alongside is 893, GHD765, a 1962 Leyland Titan PD3A/1 with MCW boywork.

City Coach Co Leyland PD1/Roberts LD8, NVX305, seen on 28 February 1955 outside the Yorkshire Grey PH in Brentwood, with an all-Leyland PD2 behind - one of the FJN batch ordered by City and delivered in their livery, but here repainted Tilling green with Westcliff fleetnames. This is believed to have been the last double deck in City livery.
