AUM404 was an AEC Regent new to Leeds as number 161 in July 1935 with an MCCW H30/26R body. After withdrawal in September 1949 it passed, in December, to Wallace Arnold Tours and operated also at various times for both subsidiary companies Hardwicks, Scarborough and Farsley Omnibus Company.

Manchester 4265, GNC60, Daimler COG5 - Metro Cammell H28/26R at Warwick Road, Old Trafford was from a batch of 83 vehicles ordered. Due to the war only 58 chassis were delivered with bodywork split between Metro Cammell and English Electric - the other chassis were destroyed by enemy action at the Daimler works before delivery.

A Standard Vanguard passes by and a Burlingham bodied half-cab coach creeps into the background. New in 1954 this bus passed to Selnec in 1969 along with the other eighty-nine in the batch.

Just four months old when this was taken, 3445 was from the batch of 60 Orion bodied vehicles delivered in 1956, all surviving to pass to Selnec in 1969.

Liverpool developed a very idiocyncratic approach to bus design after the second world war and bought many batches of buses to their own specification rather than the chassis or body builders standard offerings. In 1957-58, sixty AEC Regent V D3RV with MCW body were bought. A267, VKB900, shows off the Liverpool interpretation of the AEC grille and its built up sidelight well in this shot taken at the Lancaster 75th anniversary celbrations in 1978.

Lancs United bought many Leyland Titans over the years the last ones came in 1958 and were Leyland Titan PD3/4s with MCW bodywork. After withdrawal by LUT in 1970 649, 566FTF, found further employment with Shaw Brothers of Byers Green. It is seen on a murky day in Spennymoor.
