Newcastle had a large tram fleet, the final ones lasting until after the second world war. Car 114 was built for the start of the system in 1901 on withdrawal it was stored at Gosforth. In the second world war it was bought by Sheffield to replace trams lost in the blitz. Sheffield rebuilt the tram with a covered top and vestibules.

Seen in Peel Street, Bishop Auckland was Anderson (Blue Belle), Evenwood JVK620. This was a Daimler CWA6 with a Massey H30/26R body which had been new in January 1946 as Newcastle 20.

JVK654, a Guy Arab III new in 1946 was acquired by Harper, Heath Hayes in July 1954 from Newcastle Corportion 54 as a chassis and a new Lawton C37F body fitted becoming number 31 in the fleet. It had been withdrawn in April 1963.

Passing the municipal car park in Ferensway is Hull Corporation Transport No 127, KVK967, a Daimler CVG6 with MCW 55 seat bodywork which was new to Newcastle Corporation in 1948.

Newcastle 123, LVK123, has been featured in black and white on SCT 61, so contrasting with the cadmium yellow and cream buses of that city, 123 was used on a private enthusiasts visit to the Metro test track preserved in the immediate post war bus colours .
