Following recent messages, attached is a later shot of RM980 working on LT contract route 248 on the last day of Frontrunner operation on this route on 30th June 1989 (the contract was taken over by Ensignbus the following day). It is at the Cranham terminus of the route with, alongside, one of the more normal vehicles on the route, ex-GMPTE KBU912P (although this one appears not to be in service).
RM980 has had a very eventful history. It was with United Counties at Corby from 1/88 to 4/89, then went to Stagecoach East Midland in 4/89 and was painted in Mansfield District livery in 1989. It was reregistered USK625 in 1992 and withdrawn in 7/94. It then went to Bluebird Buses and saw service at Perth before returning to Stagecoach London in early 1998, where it saw service on the 15 and on special journeys on other routes. It was withdrawn in 8/03 and passed into preservation.
