145. RJX251
Former Halifax J.O.C. 251, RJX251, an Albion Nimbus NS3AN/Weymann B31F new in 1963. Withdrawn after only three years' service in the Summer of 1966, it passed to Booth & Fisher of Halfway, near Sheffield, having been repainted for them at Halifax. It is seen here at their depot in 1973. I believe there were some extremely low railway bridges in their territory and the prominant Halifax-specified destination box had been cut down - not very neatly - to allow for this.

155. RJX258
Halifax Nimbus 258, RJX258, so far unrepresented in this Nimbus collection, which is surprising as it probably had the most interesting history of all, despite 250's longevity. 258 had what must be the unique distinction of being owned by Joint Omnibus Committee (Halifax), a municipality (Warrington), an Urban District Council (Ramsbottom) and a PTE (SELNEC and later GMPTE).

The late Geoff Hilditch had definite views on what the rear of a single deck bus should look like. This Leyland Leopard PSU4B/2R carries a Plaxton body but this design was also built by Willowbrook among others. Does anyone else see shades of the early Paxton Derwent body seen on a recent posting of a West Riding Leopard. The bus was 10, UJX920M, in the Halifax fleet and dates from 1973.
