East Midland D7, BAL707, a Leyland TD4 dating from 1935 with a Willowbrook L27/28R body fitted in 1949 seen at Glasgow Paddocks Bus Station in Doncaster. It originally carried a Leyland L27/26R body of the early metal framed design.

East Midland N78, CRR678, was a Leyland TS7 new as E78 in 1937 with an ECW DP31R body. It is seen here at Glasgow Paddocks Bus Station, Doncaster carrying the Willowbrook B35R body fitted in 1948 when it was renumbered.

MRR305 was a Leyland PSU1/13 Royal Tiger with a Leyland B44F body which had been new in 1952 to East Midland, Chesterfield as R305. Jefferys (Liss & District), Grayshott acquired it in August 1964 and it is seen here at the garage in Liss.

11. ORR333
ORR333 was a 1954 Leyland PSUC1/1 with Saunders Roe B44F body, new to East Midland as fleet no. R333. It passed to the County Donegal Railway in Ireland in 5/65 but by the time this view was taken of it in Strabane in August 1969 it was nearing the end of its life, being withdrawn and sold for scrap later in the year.

Seen at Letterkenny (County Donegal Railway) station, the bus is registered ORR333 and presumably belongs to the County Donegal Railways with CDR on indicator. Livery looks to be CDR and presumably the bus was acquired to replace train services in 1960. ORR333 was new to East Midland c.1954, a Leyland Tiger Cub PSUC1/1 with Saunders Roe B44F body.

14. PVO624
PVO624 was a Leyland PSUC1/2T Tiger Cub with a Burlingham Seagull C41C body new as East Midland C24 in July 1954. It was acquired by Silcox, Pembroke Dock and numbered 20 in 1964 and was rebodied with a Plaxton Panorama II C43F body in February 1967.

East Midland D105, RRR105, was a Leyland PD2/20 with Metro Cammell L27/28R body new in 1955 and still carried the old livery of chrome yellow, cream and chocolate when seen at Glasgow Paddocks Bus Station in Doncaster.

Three assorted Leyland PD2's at the premises of Whippet, Hilton, from left to right, RRR96 is a PD2/20 with Metro Cammell Orion L27/28R body, new to East Midland (D96) in 1955, acquired in 1966 and sold to a local breaker in 1971, FRC956 is a PD2/12 with Leyland H32/26RD body, new to Trent (1256) in 1954 and KCH106 is a PD2/12 with Metro Cammell Orion H33/26RD body, new to Trent (1006) in 1957.

Two single deckers of Austinís, TVO233 and FCH27. TVO233 was a Leyland Tiger Cub with Willowbrook DP41F body new in 1956 to East Midland while FCH27 was ex-Trent.

Acquired from East Midland D111 in 1968, UNN111 became West Mon 11. The Leyland PD2/21 chassis carried MCCW L31/28RD bodywork and dated from 1956.

Better known for their up-market coach fleet, Park's of Hamilton periodically used second-hand buses for school contract work; these two ex-East Midland 1958 PD3/4s with Weymann L35/32RD bodies, YAL125 and YAL127, were freshly painted black and white in this garage shot taken in the early 1970s.

26. YAL366
Paton Brothers gradually switched to saloons in the late sixties. Two early examples of this trend seen at the depot are YAL366 a Leyland Tiger Cub with MCW bodywork that was new to East Midland as their R366 in 1958. Alongside is WXR52, another Tiger Cub this one was new to Birch Brothers as their K52 and had a Willowbrook coach body.

Todmorden JOC 15, YAL366, a Leyland Tiger Cub PSUC1/1 with Metro-Cammell B44F body, new to East Midland M.S. (R366) in 1958, and acquired in 1969. Passing to the Calderdale JOC it was immediately withdrawn and passed to Paton's of Renfrew, being withdrawn in 1974 and sold to breaker Dunsmore of Larkhall in 1975.

Todmorden J.O.C. 340, YAL366, a 1958 Leyland Tiger Cub PSUC1/1 with Metro Cammell B44F body. New to East Midland as R366, it was acquired by Todmorden J.O.C. as their 15 in July 1969. It passed to C.J.O.C in September 1971, but was withdrawn the same month, passing to Paton of Renfrew.

Eastern National SD1000, YAL368, Leyland Tiger Cub PSUC1/1 with Metro-Cammell B44F body, new to East Midland (R368) in 1958. This vehicle and sister YAL 369 were acquired by EN in April 1971 but only lasted until November of the following year.

East Midland D144, 144ENN, a Leyland Atlantean PDR1 with Weymann L73F bodywork delivered in 1960. It is seen here on hire to North Western passing New Mills operating service 28 to Manchester (LMS). North Western must have been less than impressed with the lowbridge layout of the Atlantean, as they decided to buy Fleetlines which could be lowheight without resort to the sunken side gangway at the rear of the upper saloon.

Crosville's Machynlleth depot (MH) is time-honoured but the double-decker awaiting return to its home town of Aberystwyth isn't. DVG568, HAL105K, an early Bristol VR Mark 2 with ECW H39/31F body had only been acquired in June 1984 from East Midland, to whom it had served as D105 from November 1971, losing its D prefix in January 1976.
