Preserved 1940 Daimler COG5/40, EVC244, with Park Royal body newly restored. New to Coventry in April 1940, it was sold in October 1949 to to Derby where it was mostly used for driver training; it was not licensed as a PSV.

On the right is Derby trolleybus 175, RC8575, a 1945 Sunbeam W with Park Royal H56R bodywork. More interestingly, on the left is one of the ex Huddersfield Karriers that ended its days as a public convenience for Epsom racecourse.

Derby Corporation 27, ACH627, is a Daimler CVD6 with locally built Brush bodywork new in 1947.

The recent discussions about Derby 27 have prompted me to submit the above photo. The occasion was thee collection of Derby 111 for preservation. We had travelled down in Oldham Crossley 368 (FBU827) seen on the left, to collect 111 (CRC911), the chassis number of which is but three different from that of 368. John Horrocks was the Engineer at Derby at the time and he posed his CVD6 27 (ACH627) in the line as well as what was at the time a training bus, the ex-Coventry COG5 47 (EVC244).

Foden was always a small player in the UK bus market, and examples of their double deckers were comparatively rare. This PVD6, with a Brush H30/26R body, dated from 1951, was Derby's 107, CRC907.

Derby Corporation bought chassis from Daimler, Foden and Crossley in the immediate post war period. This is one of the Crossleys, 111, CRC911, a 1951 example with locally built Brush bodyowrk.

Another picture at Autospares is this Derby Corporation trolleybus. Unidentifiable other than it appears to be one of the batch of 20 Sunbeam F4's with Willowbrook 60 seat bodywork delivered in 1952/3. Numbered between 216-235, DRC216-235, they lasted until withdrawn in 1967 upon closure of the system. This one was still at Autospares in the late 1970's.

Derby 8179, KRC179D, originally number 179 in the fleet, was in use promoting the Photofare scheme when caught near the Market Hall in Derby. It was a Roe bodied Daimler CRG6LX Fleetline and was H44/34F when in normal service.

Derby 250, JGU283K, is ex-LT DMS1283 but looks a little different. It has had the front dome and windows replaced by what look like standard Roe parts, perhaps following a too vigorous encounter with overhanging trees (or even a low bridge).

Derby 250, JGU283K, a 1972 Daimler Fleetline with MCW body originally DMS1283 in the London Transport fleet. The bus entered Derby service in 1980 when only 8 years old. Prior to its entry into sevice with Derby it was converted to single door layout
