This view shows the short stretch of tram track at Bradford's Thornbury Depot and Works. It was used between 1958 and 1963 for occasional outings by Bradford tram 104 for occasional special excursions. The tram drew power from the trolleybus wires, with a special connection to allow the return current to be transmitted via the negative wire.
Click here for another photo taken the same day. The tall gentleman in the short Gannex-type coat and trilby hat in the left distance was, from memory, filming the event using a large, professional-looking, film camera. Does anyone know who he was, and what happened to the film?
