Former Salford PD2 179, WRJ179. This passed to SELNEC/GMT as their 3030 and was bought by a group of people to re-certify and sell. The traditional Oldham livery layout in maroon and white was chosen mainly because it covered the GMT orange livery relatively easily.
The bus is seen in its temporary home in Greenfield in January 1978 in a snow shower. It was sold later that year to Deckaworld of Liphook in Hampshire (which made for an interesting delivery journey!) with whom it survived a surprising length of time. As a consequence it became an attractive preservation prospect and has now been restored to original Salford condition, see here for a photo. Its current home is less than a mile from where this picture was taken.
