Leeds 216, UUA216, the first of five such buses, is seen having just arrived at Half Mile Lane, Stanningley.
It was a Leyland PD2/11 with a Metro-Cammell H33/25R body, the first of five such buses, being new on 1st June 1955, with 216-219 also entering service on 1st June, and 220 on the 23rd. It will next execute a 'U' turn in the wide junction to stand at the inbound terminal stop adjacent to the Pavilion Cinema. 216 was withdrawn on 26th February 1971 and joined the learner bus fleet as number 5 from 17th April 1973, passing to West Yorkshire P.T.E. on 1st April 1974, and being finally withdrawn on 30th September 1975, then passing to Carlton Metals (breaker), Barnsley in February 1977.
