Halifax 8, KCP8, was a Leyland Royal Tiger Worldmaster RT3/1 with Weymann B42F body new in November 1958, seen after climbing to the Norton Tower terminus of route 29.
It was renumbered to 378 in 1973 and joined Calderdale JOC in 1974, then very quickly became part of West Yorkshire PTE as 3378 in the following April. Export to Ireland followed in 1976.
With North Riding parental origins, no problems with admission to the hallowed county, though allowed no concession on summer weather! Undaunted by that or distance, this was part of a massive West Riding day tour for two of us by Lambretta from the Gateshead area, getting back after midnight. Thirteen buses all worthy SCT61 stars were travelled on, no return journey on this one but a walk to Highroad Well to catch the final one - 60, CCP160C, back downhill on route 14.
