In 1968 Highland Omnibuses acquired 25 Alexander-bodied Guy LUFs which dated from 1955. Ten carried C41F bodies and the remainder, including GL11, GCS195, seen here outside Wick depot, were nominally B44F seated although surely anyone else would classify these as dual-purpose.
They replaced some earlier centre-entrance coaches which were unsuitable for one-man operation and the cash-bag behind the windscreen suggests that GL11 was being operated OMO when photographed. Both batches were withdrawn between 1969 and 1972.
The absence of any form of destination display was not particularly unusual for Highland.
