Albion Nimbus 89 (11675) was one of many such vehicles with Reading bodywork of a style dating back to the 1940s/50s, this one having been new to Guernsey Motors Ltd in 1962. Both the main Guernsey companies had been under the control of the Red & White United Transport group since 1949 (GR) and 1951 (GM) with the resultant standardisation on Albions. Acquired by GR in 1973, 89 is seen here after the GM and GR fleets merged.
In 1978, a decision had been made to revert to the old Motors' red livery rather than Railways' green, but in the event the fleet never did become all the same colour before the formation of Guernseybus Ltd in 1981 and the adoption of a white livery.
