South Midland 85, SFC571, an A.E.C. 9821E Regal IV with an Eastern Coachworks C37F body new in September 1952, was seen in Victoria Coach Station.
South Midland Motor Services Ltd., Oxford had been part of the Red & White group, which passed to the British Transport Commission in March 1950, and it was put under the control of Thames Valley Traction Company Ltd. The A.E.C. chassis had been ordered before the takeover.
