Teesside Municipal Transport T292 and T288, VRD183 and VRD192, Sunbeam F4A trolleybuses with Burlingham H38/30F bodies new to Reading Corporation in 1961.
Seen at the South Bank depot in the dying days of the Teesside system they were part of a batch of five trolleys acquired from Reading, amidst some controversy, in 1969. T288 only gave around three months service to Teesside before being withdrawn with major mechanical failure and T292 followed suit not long afterwards.
The last day of public service of the trolleybus system was 4th April 1971, the official closure taking place a fortnight later on Sunday 18th April 1971.
When one considers the large expansion to the system that took place (almost doubling the mileage) as late as 1968 this seemed a very short sighted decision to make.
