A final view of Bradford 844 FWX914 entering the works road at Thornbury on 26 March 1972 followed by the ever attendant tower wagon. On the right can be seen 737 DKY737 which would have been the last trolleybus if permission had been granted for a repaint.
As it happens the desire to have a genuine Bradford bus in the Industrial Museum saw 737 acquired by the Council whereas 844 remained with the transport department and passed to West Yorkshire PTE who have placed it on loan to the Keighley Bus Museum. Initially members of the public were prevented from following 844 in to the works, but the desire of the Lord Mayor to involve the public in the closure saw the works opened to all to witness the ceremonial switching off of the power.
