Leeds 408 in York Street, outside the Central Bus Station, has managed to stop clear of the section breaker in the overhead. It was one of forty-one totally-enclosed cars built between 1923 and 1928 by the Transport Department and entered service on 8th March 1928 although it had been finished and painted on 21st March 1926.
The body seated 46/24 on E.M.B. Pivotal trucks which were replaced by a Peckham P35 truck in July 1949. It was last repainted in April 1953 and was the only one of these cars to be painted in the red livery. After withdrawal in April 1955 it was burned at Low Fields Road Permanent Way Yard in May 1955.
