Douglas Bay Horse Trams celebrated their 140th anniversary on 7th August 2016. Star attraction of the day was the appearance of double-decker 18, built by Metropolitan Carriage & Wagon in 1883 and now the oldest in the fleet.
Because of the anticipated heavy load, it was pulled by two horses, Douglas and William. Later in the day it took part in a parade of trams but pulled only by one horse.
