To supplement the fleet of low floor Shelvoke & Drewry Freighter buses acquired with the Tramocar business at Worthing, Southdown bought 2 Dennis Falcon/Harrington B30C specially built with low-loading configuration numbered 80 & 81 in May 1939.
They were both stored by August 1940, after which the citizens of Worthing had to get used to climbing higher onto Leyland Tigers. They returned to service in Worthing in June 1945, and in June 1950 they migrated west to join the 10 1949 Falcons in service there. Newly transferred 81, FUF181, is seen here at Havant Station. The off-centre radiator shines in the summer sun.
