Southdown 1174, DUF174, had just left Victoria Coach Station when Roger photographed it in Ebury Street in September 1953.
How long were Southdown blinds? Did any other operator have have destination displays including the word Relief as well as the basic destination?
1174 was a Leyland TS7 new 1/37 with a 7.6 litre petrol engine and a Harrington C32R body. It was commandeered for the Royal Army Service Corps 3/40, not being returned until 12/48. Southdown had it rebodied Beadle C32R in 8/49 and fitted a 8.6 litre diesel in 6/50. It was sold to Frank Cowley the Salford dealer 3/58.
