Rescans - New Photos for Old

Wallace Arnold's famous cream coaches were once a common site throughout the UK and many parts of Europe. They favoured Plaxton-bodied Leyland and AEC chassis. Because of the seasonal demand, they often hired lightweight Bedford and Ford coaches mainly with Duple bodywork, from the local Stanley Hughes leasing company but painted in the WA corporate livery.
This remarkable view shows an "end-of-season" line-up, with WA Plaxtons in the foreground, and hired Stanley Hughes lightweights at the rear.
